Dining Out

Sag Harbor’s restaurants await within a five-minute drive or a twelve-minute bike ride from Forever Bungalows.

What’s available food-wise within the village is diverse, the offerings ranging from store-made bagels and fresh baked donuts to sublimely sophisticated seafood and wines.

Along Main Street, there’s plenty to nourish and satisfy you, from generous sandwiches at the local grocery store and at the Main Street deli (that’s Schiavoni’s IGA and The Golden Pear, respectively) to elaborate hand-rolled sushi and famous Cajun chicken (from Sen and Le Bilboquet). There’s even a health food store with it’s own juice bar and cafe (Provisions).

The closest eatery to Forever Bungalows is Harbor Market, a bright and clean coffee and sandwich shop tucked into a residential neighborhood. Housed in a former grocery store, Harbor Market harkens back to another era by stocking a unique set of eclectic (and tasty) sundries and features fresh-made salads, sandwiches, wood-oven pizza and baked goods.

Muse In The Harbor

You can always get ice cream in Sag Harbor, but that’s another story.

Harbor casual, come as you are, moderately priced.

The Dock House
1 Long Wharf
Sag Harbor, NY 11963
(631) 725-7555

A traditional lobster shack (seafood) with a few stools inside. No liquor license. Improvise. Get your own on the way there and sit outside. Be part of the harbor scene.

The Corner Bar
1 Main Street
Sag Harbor, NY 11963
(631) 725-9760

A wood-paneled tavern featuring burgers and seafood. See what’s going on outside on Main Street while sitting at the bar. There’s an outdoor camera feed live at the bar. The locals get salty here, and are known to wave goodbye to outgoing tourist traffic on Labor Day.

2 Main Street
Sag Harbor, NY 11963
(631) 725-5668

Takeout focaccia sandwiches. The village’s top grab-and-go lunch and dinner spot. Besides sandwiches on foccacia, try the whole wheat pizza. Expect large pasta portions. Good espresso.

7 Main Street
Sag Harbor, NY 11963
(631) 725-3636

Health Food Store & Cafe. Daytime. Where else do you find turmeric offered as a table top seasoning? Only at Provisions. Get yourself a kale smoothie and fill up on the Mac Demarco vibes all in one place!

Dockside Bar & Grill
26 Bay Street
Sag Harbor, NY 11963
(631) 725-7100

Modern seafood and more. Outdoor dining. Say “hello” to the owners, Stacey and Elizabeth. You might not always get a discount, but it always helps to mention you’re staying at Forever Bungalows and that you read about them here.

LT Burger
62 Main Street
Sag Harbor, NY 11963

Diner fare with a modern twist. One of eleven world-wide restaurants operated by Laurent Tourondel. On the gourmet end of the diner scale, and far from the typical burger joint.

II Capuccino Ristorante
30 Madison Street
Sag Harbor, NY 11963
(631) 725-2747

A classic checkered-tablecloth family-friendly Italian restaurant. Garlic knots for the table. Gluten-free pasta. Generous Frutti di Mare—enough for two. You’ll feel like you’re in Little Italy.

Hamptonesque, dressier, more expensive

23 Main Street
Sag Harbor, NY 11963

Wolffer Kitchen & Wine Bar
29 Main St,
Sag Harbor, NY 11963

Modern American cuisine with a Mediterranean influence. Launched by Wolffer Vineyards, a local winery, the menu is crafted to complement their wine selection. A great espresso awaits you here.

American Hotel
45 Main Street
Sag Harbor, NY 11963
(631) 725-3535

Clubby civility in the lobby and bar of this late Georgian constructed classic. As traditional as you could ask for, the atmosphere is so well staged you’ll forget how many Republicans you’re rubbing up against. Say “hello” to bartenders Paul, Vinnie and John; they can answer any question you have about Sag Harbor but may not say a lot about what happened last night.

Page at 63 Main
63 Main Street
Sag Harbor, NY 11963
(631) 725-1810

New American fare. On-site aquaponic vegetables. Outdoor seating. The only place in Sag Harbor taking reservations! If you call ahead, there’s no need to wait in line like you might elsewhere. White-Duke-era Bowie would’ve enjoyed hanging out here later in the evening; it gets interesting.

Lulu Kitchen & Bar
126 Main Street
Sag Harbor, NY 11963
(631) 725-0900

New. Wood burning grill and oven. Mediterranean. Well-stylized “Manhamptonite” atmosphere (the term in quotes coined by Forever Bungalows’ general manager Adrian Stivala).

Muse In the Harbor
16 Main Street
Sag Harbor, NY 11963
(631) 899-4810

Inventive New American plates & drinks. Set to re-open. Home to one of the most impressive fish tanks in all of the Hamptons.

Le Bilboquet
1 Long Wharf
Sag Harbor, NY 11963

New. French & Cajun influence. East End outpost of a highly social Upper East Side boite. On the wharf. Setting out to impress folks from “away” (the locals way of describing people who are not from “here”).

The Beacon
8 W Water Street
Sag Harbor, NY 11963
(631) 725-7088

Stunning views. Summer people. Another Sag Harbor staple. The best sunset you can experience while dining on the East End.

Just off of Main Street (easy, casual)

Estia’s Little Kitchen
1615 Sag Harbor Tpke
